Tabs Bat Mitzvah Project - K'far Yeladim Orphanage

K'far Yeladim David in Israel - yes, Israel had snow this past winter (2014-15).

In an effort to give back and (Tikkun Olam is the term in Hebrew) and help the world become a better a happier, better place, I am training for a 10k/6.2 mile run - the Fast and Furriest on June 16, 2015 through Verona Street Animal Shelter in Rochester, NY where we adopted our dog, Doggie 12 1/2 years ago.

I am raising money for a charity (Tzedakah is the term in Hebrew -  "Tzedakah" is derived from the Hebrew root Tzadei-Dalet-Qof, meaning justice or fairness. In Judaism, giving to the poor is not viewed as just generosity; it is an act of justice for the very poor.) in Jerusalem, Israel, an orphanage for neglected and abused girls my mom visited last summer, K'far Yeladim David www.kfaryeladim.org

K'far Yeladim is in dire need of mattresses and linens for girls to use to sleep. The mattresses cost about $100 each and linens are about $100 per bed. I am raising funds to provide them with 20 mattresses and 20 sets of linens = $4000.

I have created a GoFundMe link with photos and further information http://www.gofundme.com/tabethagm
I can also receive a check, made out to me, Tabetha Garver Mosher with K'far Yeladim in note section.
My mom will take the checks, deposit them and write 1 check to K'far Yeladim for all of the checks I have received.
Your donation is a tax write off.
I will be donating some of my own money and our Tzedakah box money (pushke) to benefit the orphaned girls at K'far Yeladim.

Suggested donation is $2/kilometer = $20 or $3/mile = $18 (18 is a Chai in Hebrew which is symbolic for Life).

We will send donations to K'far Yeladim by mid July 2015.

Thanks, Tabs
